The book starts off fast. It is spooky and slightly scary but you also get the warm feelings of family and friends. I like the idea of magic songs and how that leads to them having to separate themselves from other people. The plot is a great draw but the conflict within the main character pulls you in too. She doesn’t really like the way things are, the rules put her brother in danger, but she knows it is all necessary. I want to know how it all works out
