The cover didn't draw me in, or excite me in anyway. It just seemed boring. However, the story inside was interesting. Already I can tell a difference between character voices, they both sound completely different. We have been given some backstory to them, but there wasn't enough there for me to relate to them just yet. I have no clue where the story is going to go, but I want to find out. The magic system is different than anything I have read before. I don't understand the ins and outs, but I feel like I have to know more about it. There is a sense of mystery to the story. We can already tell that something is not as it seems.
