The cover is very wistful in a way that reminds me of Margaret Rogerson's An Enchantment of Ravens, giving a good first taste to what the story is going to be like. I like the concept of the Watchers and the different types of songs they sing, and would be interested to learn more about them, but I think the characters and the overall conflict feel very similar to other similar fantasy stories, especially ones that include a ruthless and possibly even malicious forest.
