The Poison Season definitely feels like a dark fairy tale. If you don't have magic you don't get to stay on the island with a deadly forest surrounded by poisonous lake. If you try, they'll send off to die. And of course there's the innocent that will stumble upon the island, just this time it's a boy instead of a girl.
