Mara Rutherford’s new YA fantasy The Poison Season has a really interesting set up. The cover is really aesthetically pleasing and compelling— I love the art style, the colors, and the composition. The story follows a girl, Leelo, who accidentally attracts a stranger to her island with her magic, and how things ripple out from there in order to protect long held secrets. Seems like a fun story!
