I enjoyed this book! It wasn't a storyline I had read before so I liked how there was a book within a book! This one was a slow burn for me and I liked how it unfolded. At the beginning of the story I felt like I was in Ripley, the small college town at the writers workshop. It was fun to feel like the reader was also on the retreat. Once Jake started getting the notes I liked how he we followed his perspective and the hunt he went on. I didn't have any idea how this book would end, so I just enjoyed going along for the ride. There were so many more layers than I thought. I listened this this as an audiobook and the narrator was great. I hadn't listened to anything by this narrator before. Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillian audio for the opportunity to listen to this book! I first learned of this book from Bookish First and appreciate this great book being put on my radar.
