This is book about a book with a new and unique plot line. This book fit the bill. Jake has written one well received novel but now is stuck teaching hopeful writers but not doing much writing himself. Here he encounters a student who is a bit of a jerk and is more interested in contacts than getting writing help. But he does have a good idea for a book that thorough a series of events gets written by Jake. This book was kind of a crazy ride. Toward the end I started to figure out what was going on but how it played out still kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat. I got inklings of strangeness through the book but nothing that revealed too much. I liked how the story alternated between “real” life and snippets from the book. Both were interesting I I would read the book within the book if govern the option. I would recommend this to people who like suspense but are also looking for something new and fresh.
