Witty and metafictional take on writers
As someone who wants entertained the idea of getting an MFA and becoming a professor in academia, I really enjoyed this sardonic and humorous take on writers and the writing process. This is definitely a metafictional take on literary fiction, poking fun at its weaknesses while extolling its attributes. I found the caricatures of the Great American Novelists versus the New York Times Bestselling authors to me both amusing and illuminating. I look forward to reading the rest of the book so that I can appreciate the author's waiting insights into the perils of publishing and the woes of writing.
