I love books about struggling authors who teach English, which seems like a weirdly specific trope to love on, but there it is! Anyone who has ever been through school knows a student like Evan, arrogant and entitled, and a tiny part of me gets happy when things don't turn out rosy for them, but this looks like a terrific mystery/thriller and I can't wait to read it in its entirety to find out who did what to whom!
