I was psyched to read the First Impression of The Plot. After finishing the excerpt, I find my head is spinning. What did I just read. I found myself rereading sentences and paragraphs. Jacob Finch Bonner, now a professor in a third rate MFA program, had a successful first book but after that has not achieved success. He is not enthusiastic about teaching. I think the author wants the reader to be unsympathetic to Bonner at the beginning. Right now te book is not grabbing my interest.
