Part of me really wants to like this book but there have been so many books about struggling writers that I honestly had a hard time connecting. For some reason all books that star a writer make me think that it is a self-insert book even if it's clear it isn't.
The plot of the book overall is interesting but (at least in the segment I read) doesn't touch on the idea that stories like to tread the same themes and tropes throughout history. I dunno, I think I might have been expecting a little more from this author.
