I have met a few authors and I am always amazed at what they do. I am always in awe of the worlds and characters they create. I remember telling an author about a book and hearing them say they wished they wrote that or telling them about a random plot and hearing them talking about how fun it would be to write that story. Would they steal my idea (I could never write a book so I honestly wouldn't care)? Would they give me credit? How far would they go to get a best seller? Oh, this book sounds like it is going to be intense!
