After reading the first impression of The Plot, I’m definitely interested in continuing to follow this story. The main character, Jake, is an author, and I love reading stories that follow authors or writers. In just two chapters, the author of The Plot was able to develop his character and build his world in a way that has me engaged in the story. Jake is already a relatable character with an interesting voice.
The writing style of The Plot reminds me of Stephen King’s writing, which is I think why I vibed with it so well. King is known for his wordy paragraphs and his ability to build characters in his stories, and that’s exactly what I felt was happening here.
This first impression + a very intriguing premise and book summary might move this to the top of my most anticipated 2021 thriller list!
