I generally enjoy reading historical fiction books, so I wasn't surprised that I was drawn to read this first look after reading the short blurb. I love historical fiction (and fiction) books that focus on different cultures. This seems like an interesting historical fiction that is unlike any I've read before. Also, the cover art is stunning, with the watercolors and all of the detail in the foreground and background. The cover definitely drew me in.
