The plot of the book seems somewhat generic, and so does the writing style. I feel like I've read a lot of YA books with this plot in general - Mc goes to a new school to start over, has a crush on this hot dude who is kind of douchebaggy so they have an enemies-to-lovers things, and he joins the sports team to prove his worth as a man. Somewhat cliche, and written in a detatched quippy "teen voice". I do want to know what will happen next though, because I'd like to see the MC play soccer and how his teammates react to his being trans.
