I would say that this is a pretty standard YA book about a trans boy, Spencer Harris, and his experiences in high school on the soccer team. Although I liked the incorporation of sports, nothing really amazed me about this book if I'm being honest. I didn't really fully connect with the characters; they seemed a little archetypal to me, and I felt a little bored with the typical high-school setting.
However, I'd recommend those who love other YA books set in high school to give this a try!
