Abby Gravens lives in her hometown with her parents working as a grocery store cashier after a mysterious incident that caused her to leave her dream school. However, at a high school reunion, she meets up with her old best friend who is now a beautiful movie star in California. Abby decides to get a one way ticket to California, and ends up moving in with her best friend. Things just get weirder from there.

I thought this book was going to be very “single white female”, but it seems more like she’s trying to have her friend all to herself. Poor Elise is doing everything she can to get rich and famous. She has the perfect house, the perfect boyfriend, and some pretty decent contacts in the business. It’s pretty scary the lengths that Abby goes to in order to have Elise all to herself. It’s clear she has some deep psychological issues. The whole time I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what crazy thing Abby was going to do next. It was mentally draining, but in a good way!
