"I never told you—not even later, in our most intimate
moments—that I’d been seeking you out in the magazines
for years, ever since high school."

Wait. Hold up! Am I correct to think that Abby may have been suffering from mental issues? She's obviously obsessing over her childhood best friend, Elise who I think moved to another state to pursue her dream as a Hollywood starlet. Abby is the narrator of the story and her point of view is somehow cloudy because she's imagining things at the same time telling everything that's happening to her surroundings.

The writing style is at first, difficult to read but it gets easier as you read along. It's like Abby is talking to me because she keeps on addressing "you" which later on I found out that the "you" pertains to Elise. It's as if she's talking to or telling Elise her story.

I appreciate the detailed narration or just how Abby describes everything that's on her mind. It's weird in its own way, and as the blurb says, it promises a "knife-edge story of two women's dark friendship of twisted ambition"

I wonder what will happen to Abby in the end?
