The premise of this book sounds thrilling and suspenseful, however, the first pages seemed disconnected and difficult for me to follow. I never got a good feel how these characters' lives were interconnected and the text almost seemed dream-like, as if a stream of consciousness instead of jumping the reader right into the heart of the story.
