I absolutely love the artistic quality of the cover. The description intrigued me enough that I wanted to know more. But the sample itself didn't wow me.
The opening scene is a little drab, simply hinting at the main character's secret obsession with her (ex) friend. It feels like the kind of obsession that will easily go haywire, though that's more my interpretation from experience with this sort of book than from any foreshadowing within the text.
Based on this short sample, I don't think it's the type of book I gravitate toward, but the writing is good and there is certainly potential for an explosive story.
