The cover of this book is beautiful, and from the first few pages I can tell that it portrays the feeling and experience of this book well. In this short preview I have already felt both appalled by and convinced by the narrator of this story--her erratic behavior and excessive thought pattern were jarring at first, but I quickly found myself on her side. In a way, these first few pages remind me of how I felt while reading The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath--I am hoping for the well-being of the main character, but I am also a little bit convinced that she is right and that everyone else is wrong. It takes great writing to manipulate a reader like that!
