I am fascinated by the progression I see in the "first look"! It makes me want to clear a huge space for a storyboard of my own.
I am hoping that in the complete version there's a little more explanation about some things... I'm not really sure what "mark making" is even though it's mentioned several times. I'm certainly curious!
The artwork is gorgeous, as you would hope it would be in a book about art. I love that there's lots of art. Sometimes there isn't as much as you'd hope in these kinds of books. This "Journal" has sweeping, full-page art showing not just examples but also the artist's studio and the artist herself at work.
Looking through the table of contents, I'm intrigued by the idea of vintage books as journals. As a lover of vintage books that's an idea that has me wanting to go hunt through a used book store!
