I really enjoy doing artistic things but I'm terribly hopeless at it. I loved reading this book because the instructions are simple and the pictures are gorgeous. If I am going to try painting or sketching I would like a more nuanced guide and this book has that in spades.
My nine year old daughter is a very good artist and very creative. I let her read this book after I was done and she thought it was "so cool!" She would like to live in Paris and eat dinner on top of the Eifle Tower. This would be a wonderful book to pack in her bag for that trip. She could relax and learn about sketching and pencil lines while taking in the French Country. If you are a hopeless artist like I am you will appreciate this book, but if you are an imaginative and creative 9 year old you will love it!!
