The story was captivating enough to keep me really invested. The main three characters all annoyed me to no end, and for various reasons. Personally, if I were Emily I would have gotten away from the entire situation very early on (but that's not the point, I guess; otherwise the book would have been very short!).
I had inklings of what might be a sort of outcome, and if I understood the ending, I wasn't wrong.
As for the writing, I felt like a lot of the wording and phrasing was quite odd but it very well could have been that it was because I read an advanced copy and not a finished one. I've read lots of UK authors so it definitely wasn't that. Hopefully the finished copy has some edits.
Overall, if you like heavy domestic drama, I would recommend this!
