Sounds positively captivating doesn't it? This was one of those books I picked up when I got it just to read the prologue and, to the neglect of other books I was reading, I couldn't put back down. I was surprised to see was the author's debut novel, it was a really solid psychological read for me. The story of Emily who meets and falls in love with Adam and Adam's mother Pammie, who it seems, will go to any lengths to keep Adam to herself. Early on there were red flags for me in this relationship almost to the point where I wanted to scream at Emily, wondering why didn't she just hightail it out of there. But the heart wants what the heart wants and we all have learned the hard way right?!
The story does move quickly with a well rounded cast of characters, which I thoroughly appreciate in a story. Games are being played left and right with several WOW, just WOW twists and an ending I never, ever saw coming! I was very impressed with Sandie Jones and will most assuredly be eager to read her next offering.
Anyone who likes a good psychological thrill or a twisted read would enjoy this I believe.
