I read a lot of mixed reviews about this on the bookstagram community, but luckily I found it at the library. Emily meets her perfect man, Adam, and instantly hits it off. As their relationship grows, they begin to meet each other’s parents. Once Emily meets Pammie, Adam’s mother, she instantly gets a bad vibe. Emily can’t tell whether Pammie is genuinely trying to push her away from Adam. Emily learns that Pammie will now be her biggest rival. Side note - I got total ‘Mother in-law’ vibes (Jane Fonda vs JLo). I wasn’t sure if it was meant to be light sabotaging until Pammie began to do some over the top things to post-pone Adam and Emily’s happiness. I don’t want to say anymore to avoid spoiling it though. I did not see the ending coming at all, although I did suspect something was off about —— (no spoilers). Way to throw a curveball into it Sandie! Highly recommend! 4/5.
