This book was definitely not a win for me. I went in with extremely high expectations because it was Reese Witherspoon and Hello Sunshine’s Book of the Month pick. I figured it must be good. Of course I thought by the title I knew what was going to happen but I was shocked by the twists and turns of this novel. First, I did not like the main character. She was basing her identity on a man and his approval was her life. Even when she was not happy for a long time. I just could not feel sorry for her because it seemed to obvious she was in a toxic relationship and she knew it. There were also some crude moments that I was not a fan of. It was too far and too often for me to overlook it. I was sorry I didn’t like it because it is so widely loved.
