It kind of grows on you a bit like a fungus

Here's my original 3 star review: This was an "okay" book. I really couldn't see what the big fuss was about. The big "twist" is just people being childish instead of using their words. It was an interesting concept, but ultimately one that fell flat as a result of the execution. I liked it up until about 3/4 of the way through and then it was just a slog. The MIL from hell trope isn't always accurate, but man was this particular book a let down.
Now, several months after I swapped the book away, I had a hankering to read it again, so I swapped to get it back. And then I read it, thought, okay, it can go away again, and then a few months later, I wanted to read it again. I never re-read the same book this close together - the most frequent is Gone with the Wind and that's a once a year re-read. So, there's something about this book, though I can't put my finger on what it is, and as a result, I'm revising my review from 3 stars to four.
