Interesting Twists and Turns Starting on Page One!
The cover design caught my eye, and the characters kept my attention from the very start. In just a couple of chapters, I already have cringed about bad-breath Ivor and felt suspicious about love-interest Adam. One thing that appeals to me is that the female protagonist has a career and seems to be successful and quite self-assured. She is experienced enough with men to be aware of differences in Adam's behavior and to understand that his hesitancy to introduce her to his mother could be a clue that this relationship is not quite as solid as she would like it to be. I understood Emily, the female protagonist, feelings of jealousy over the old photo of Adam with a female named Rebecca. (I am wondering if this is going to be a modern-day version of Daphne DuMaurier's book, REBECCA.) I look forward to finishing the rest of the book.
