Emily thinks she has finally met the man of her dreams. That is until his mother comes into the picture. Can she continue to deal with his mother for the love of her life? Is there more to this story?

This story was excruciating to get through. Emily is quite pathetic, despite the horrible treatment she is receiving she keeps going back to a man who obviously does not care for her. The relationship is a textbook abusive relationship and yet through everything she keeps going back to him and it was horrible to read. She should have had an actual backbone. Instead the author uses this as a plot device to keep the story going.

Every time something bad happens she latches onto him farther and I really could have cared less about the misery she was going through with his mother. She allowed herself to get into every situation and because she did not bother to extricate herself from the situation it continued to go downhill.

The plot was iffy at best, there really wasn't much of a point and the entire book could have been rectified at the beginning with a simple conversation and some self reflection.

I personally think books that personify these types of relationships are what is wrong with this society. Throughout the entire book it is seen as everything he does is okay when Emily continues to go back to him. That is not what we should be teaching women, or anyone in a bad relationship, in this society. It most definitely should not be capitalized as a major plot point in a book.
