I really liked the premise of this book and the beginning chapters hooked me. I was not too crazy about our leading lady, Emily. I felt like she had given her love, Adam waaayyy too many chances.

Emily meets Adam in a bar and although she adores him and he, her, there is one problem standing in their way.....Adam's Mother. The only problem is that only Emily can see how truly evil she is, everyone else loves the old bat including Adam and he would do anything for his mother.

I read this book in one day. It is extremely fast paced because at only having 304 pages, the book spans over about a year. The mystery keeps you guessing but unfortunately, I was able to guess the ending about 3/4's into the book. Somewhere around the last 1/3, the book takes on a strange turn of events and it is easy for the reader to see what is to come. I also felt like the ending was kind of rushed.

As for the character of Emily. I get that she loved Adam and all and that she wanted to show up his mother but honestly, no man is worth all that aggravation. Kudos to her for actually not giving up!
