Emily is our narrator who is also the victim of the crimes that are taking place in the storyline. She is easy to connect with and you do feel for her. She has two friends who are there to help her in many ways but sometimes cause problems without realizing it, Seb the gay best friend, and Pippa the flatmate. Then you have Adam who comes off as prince charming. He does show his arrogance, as well as being smug and lacking for Emily's feelings at times. His previous girlfriend Becky died of an asthmatic attack but has Emily questioning. His mother Pammie seems to play a large role in life, while little brother James, seems to be an afterthought.

The story is told in the first person. There is a good use of red herrings which make the story always more interesting and also the dramatic plot twist. The characters have some interactions but have no real growth or development throughout the story. There is not really a lot of background knowledge given about where the characters were before, or when it is given it comes in choppy context.

Yes, I would recommend this book but only to those who enjoy reading thrillers.
