Oh man, did I not see the twist that was coming. As we all know, mother in laws are just evil (in most cases). And this book provided a perfect villain to hate.
It was at times so frustrating and hard to connect with Emily though, as she seemed a weak woman that couldn't stand up for herself, or see what was happening. I just wanted to shake her to wake her up. But at the same time, she was trying to be strong for her family she was trying to create with a man she seemed to love. I don't know which is stronger.
Anyways, the whole book was maybe a little too stretched out. And the ending way too short. Wanted more backstory to the mother in law, or life after the whole incident.
Overall a nice idea for a villain.
