Trigger Warning: Domestic Abuse

"I love Adam with all my heart, and I can't wait to be his wife. I'm not marrying his mother, she's just something I'm going to have to find a way to deal with."

SYNOPSIS | Emily meets Adam at a bar & he is the perfect guy she thought she would never meet. After they've been dating a couple months, she is introduced to his family and friends over the Christmas break including his mother (Pammie). From their very first meeting Pammie is outwardly lovely but things are off and as time goes on, Emily starts to become concerned that Adam will never take her side over his mothers.

MY THOUGHTS | This was my first book by Sandie Jones and it definitely won't be my last & anyone who has a mother-in-law will find this story relatable. I absolutely loved the progression of Emily's relationship with both Adam & Pammie, especially seeing how she reacts & justifies her thoughts & feelings in each situation. I ended up rating it 3 stars because I don't like it when the big reveal is 20 pages before the end of the book. It makes the ending feel very rushed.
