The author doesn't waste any time in grabbing your attention by foreshadowing that this is NOT going to end well. The prologue provides an unnamed narrator who is obviously up to nefarious (although seemingly well-intended from her eyes) plans. We then meet Emily and her meeting of Mr. Peroni. We can only assume they are headed for love and then maybe disaster???
