An intriguing beginning to a mysterious relationship

This first look was absolutely intriguing and made me want to continue to read even as the first look ended. Emily meets Adam at a bar, then he calls her and the relationship begins. Emily lacks self-confidence and sees herself as rather ordinary. Adam, however, is playful and calm, never disturbed by any of life’s challenges, like traffic or delays. Emily’s friend Seb seems to be the one who is most knowledgeable about Adam and even questions him about his past. But Adam deflects all questions about himself and continues to woo Emily. The first look ends when the couple go to Pammie’s house (Adam’s mother) and Pammie shows Emily a picture album of Adam. It is then that Emily spies a picture of Adam with Rebecca and knows that he has had other relationships, but she has no idea why they ended since he won’t talk about his past. The prologue gives a big clue about what will happen...wow! What a teaser!
