Emry is daughter to the great and powerful wizard known to all as Merlin.
Although he teaches her, and her twin brother Emmett, magic he always reminds her that she, unlike her brother, will never be able to use it.
However when the King calls upon Emmett to apprentice as the court wizard to his son, Arthur, Emry must go in his place disguised as her twin. The ruse was only supposed to be for one week before the twins switched back but things did not go as planned.
This was a surprisingly enjoyable book to read. I absolutely love retellings of popular stories like this one. The legend of King Arthur and Merlin are one of my favorites and this certainly was a unique take on a well known tale.
My favorite part of this story is actually every time someone figures out the Emry is in fact a woman disguised as a man. There are some very good lines revolved around this.
