The story was a fantastic retelling of Camelot and soon to be King Arthur. Emry was likeable, and the fact she had to hide her gender added to the suspense. Her ability to potentially surpass her father's magic added to her girl-power. The different magical entities in the book continually reaffirmed that Emry, regardless of her sex was a force like no other. I like how Arthur liked "Merlin" for the person that they were and not because of appearance or duty. The chemistry between Emry and Arthur was amazing. When I first opened the book, a friend came into the room and just from the cover she wanted to read it! In this case you can judge a book by its cover because there is mystery wrapped in the whole book. The author is setting us up for a sequel, and I can't wait to read the next adventure of Emry, Lance and Arthur. It also looks like Emmett and Gen will be apart of the new team!
