Honestly, the story was so much better than I thought because I had judged the book by its cover. As in I didn't like the cover. The story is so much funnier, action-packed, higher stake, and interesting than I had expected. I found myself very invested in Emry's journey with her constant battle against sexism (even from her own father!), the effort she needs to hide herself, but also how she thrives in magic and she's finally able to learn and evolve! The dialogue is also very engaging and easy to follow. I really enjoyed reading the First Impression and would love the read the entire story. I hope Emry gets to stay in the castle!! Also, I would suggest changing the cover to something more magical, and not a hooded girl with a smirk on her face (which doesn't seem to fit with her personality). Emry is also supposed to look a lot like her brother so the person on the cover should be able to pass as a boy.
