I wasn't sure of this, because I'm not a fan of when retellings only gender-swap one character, and that's what I thought it was--but it's more involved than that, and I really enjoyed the excerpt. It was much more engaging than I expected; I love Emry's personality and the tone of the writing, as well as the promise of the story to come. I was a fan of BBC's Merlin, and all that needed was some explicit queerness, sooo...sign me up.
