Humor and sarcasm make for a very enjoyable first look!
I was first drawn to the concept for this book - a girl as the “son of Merlin”? The feminist part of me was cheering already. After reading the first few chapters, I was introduced to characters I was immediately invested in! Emry has such quick wit and sarcasm that I relate to on a personal level. Gran had the best words of wisdom and empowerment in chapter 4 that made me an instant fan of hers!
The cover (and title) doesn’t pull me in( I’m a sucker for aesthetics), but definitely gets the point of the book across.
I am really looking forward to reading the rest of this book! I want to see just how much more humor is here(it started from the very beginning), where Emery’s decisions take her….and just how the story will end!
