July Fielding is spending the summer alone, one day everyone in her town has disappeared. As she is trying to figure out what has happened she finds a journal and other signs that try to tell her to get them back. What is going she does not know as time goes on she starts to have flashbacks from the time before everyone disappeared.
This book goes back and forth between the past and present. This is also from her point of view and her memories. July is having a hard time herself if this is real or all in her head. She has some issues that are addressed in the book.
In my opinion, the story could have been more, it is an interesting premise. The author leads you around in a way where you know something bad has happened, but not exactly what, in a roundabout way. I just did not know how to take this book. It just needed more at least for me. As always this is an opinion.
