I dont know how to feel.. This book left me feeling empty and sad and a little confused. I'm not saying that's a bad thing either, I think that may have been the out come Ally Condie wanted with this. It's always a good thing when books make you FEEL something, I believe thats the goal of reading or it is for me anyway. I've never had a book leave me feeling like this though. Melancholy might be the right word. This book deals heavily with loneliness and depression in a way that doesn't feel heavy. July, our main character, is the only girl left in her town when everyone else disappears. The story is told in three parts: now, once, and july talking with her therapist. We get the idea that July has been dealing with intense lonelines for a very long time and all of it, the therapy sessions and the stories of a summer past are leading up something big. The ending is a little confusing and i'm still not fully sure what happened. Again tho, I think they may have been the point. This is definatly a book that leaves you thinking.
