This book was not exactly what I was expecting, since I thought it would be more of a dystopian fiction kind of vibe, and instead there was a lot more exploration of the psychological aspects of the plot. I did enjoy it, however, I just had to change my mindset about what it would be. The main character's introspection was very interesting to observe, and she seemed to learn a lot about herself over the course of the book. The writing was really lovely and the main character was fascinating, but the chapters were short which sometimes came across as a bit disjointed, especially with the parallel timelines. There were some really good plot twists and they kept me completely engaged with the storyline. It was a lot more complex than I was anticipating, and I could see myself reading this book again and getting different perspectives on things.
