The Only Girl in Town is a book that takes readers on a strange journey with the protagonist, July. One day, she simply wakes up to find that everyone is gone--her family, her friends, the entire town where she lives. It is a perplexing situation, and one that no one really wants to find themselves in.

What stands out the most with this book is the writing style--it is short, creative, lyrical, and gives you an other-worldly sense at times. It makes it feel like a fast read, even though you may wat to linger inside some of the imagery for a while.

When it comes to the plot, it works well to deliver the surprises and twists that you don't expect, even if you have read similar stories and thought it was heading to someplace predictable. Overall, this book is a great read for those who want to suspend a bit of reality and watch where the characters decide to take you.
