The cover and description were immediately captivating. This looks like a thriller written for YA readers, and I am here for it! I love Condie as a writer, and this book unlike anything else I've seen from her.
The writing itself is perfectly fast paced with cliffhangers on each chapter that compel you to keep reading. I read the First Look preview in one sitting and could have easily kept going until I finished the book. Wow! I love that it is written in short chapters and seems almost like a novel in verse at times. The writing really creates a sense of urgency and mystery. The flashbacks and disjointed timeline add to that mystery as things are slowly unveiled. It also creates stronger themes that make this more than just a thriller. I love the glimmer of romance and friendship themes that are coming through.
I can't wait to DEVOUR the whole book when it's published! This has vibes of a classic summer thriller that everyone will be talking about.
