The concept of this book is interesting and very mysterious. Suddenly finding everyone in your town gone and being unable to leave while also receiving strange messages has all the makings of a creepy novel. The writing style is where I am not sold. The sentences are choppy and sometimes written in what feels like poetry format. The chapters are short so it is a quick read but it often felt like thoughts were not completed. I am not sure whether this would impact my enjoyment of the story or become more annoying while reading.
