The atmosphere in this book is so well written that it drew me right into the story. It has a weird, dreamy, and almost poetic feel to it, which adds to the plot perfectly, since it's about a girl in a town where everyone else has disappeared. It's reminding me of A. S. King's "Switch" which I really loved. There's a mystery at the heart of the story, being what happened to everyone, and I'm so intrigued to know if it's just in July's head, if something maybe paranormal happened, or if it's something else all together! Really interested in reading more, and the cover is perfect! The colors and composition of the illustration get that feeling of emptiness perfectly.
