This book was not easy to read but oh, so rewarding. The author does a wonderful job of moving from a nightmare of a school/prom shooting to a great love story. This book did not shy away from the characters dealing with the traumatic aftermath, it was not a quick or easy resolution and they did not always make the most prudent of choices in years immediately following the event but that is much more true to real life.
I really am impressed with how Loren had her characters move forward and on with their lives. This was the first book of what I think will be four, one for each of the four female characters who spend the first year after the event in therapy together. None of the four were friends before and not even in the intervening years but during this book they came to realize how such a tragedy can bond people. Look forward to the next book.
