Every time I see a tragedy on TV, I imagine what it would be like to be one of the survivors & this book actually takes us into their heads. Finn and Liv were secret sweethearts in high school and the school shoooting brought their relationship to an abrupt halt. I really enjoyed how the author brought them back together after 12 years apart and showed us the ramifications of that abrupt ending to their relationship, and how their time apart had matured them without deminishing the connection they both felt. My favorite things about this book were the texting banter between Finn and Liv and the renewed friendship Liv had with Rebecca, Kincaid, and Taryn. The 4 girls had nothing in common before they joined the survivor list, but they became a wonderful support system for each other. I can’t wait to see how their relationship continues to grow throughout the series.
